I think the lack of light creates a very gloomy feeling which suits the subject well. I like it.

I, too, like the conditions you shot under. There is a subtle graduation of the shadowing until you reach that last bit of evening still showing at the top floor.

I know these stairs are primarily for fire escape evacuation, but I'd like to imagine a time where the children of the building climbed up and down the stairs visiting each other's apartments. You know, before the days of computers and video games made everyone hermits in their own homes and lacking in physical activity.

This is nice, the inclusion of the sky is a good idea. It removes the tension.

I love these old buildings - I remember seeing them in San Fran and New York when I travelled there a couple of years ago - such interesting shapes and designs the stairs forms and creates. Nice work.

great symmetry and gloom. i think the cycle on the top floor pefectly placed. it meets the eye whenever the stairs are climbed and it also breaks the monotony as each line of windows is visually scanned. realy glad to read of your passion for older cams and film. well done.
